The Solem Wedding

We had the opportunity to attend Melyssa and Jeremy Solem's wedding this July. My mother-in-law Jonnie was the officiant. We didn't even know that she became a pastor until Jeremy and Melyssa asked her to officiate their wedding. Apparently, she received her certification a month after Rich and I got married. It was great watching her perform this special ceremony. Jeremy was Tyler's (Rich's brother that  was KIA in Iraq) best friend. 

In attendance, was Jeremy's sister Jenna Keck. Jenna and I were almost 6 months pregnant. Our due dates are only a few days apart.

They had the best cupcakes at the wedding. I was pregnant so I ate mine and Richie's. (I was allowed...Pregnant women can eat whatever we want!) Truth be told Richie doesn't like sweets so he didn't miss his cupcake. Congratulations Melyssa and Jeremy. We wish you all the best!

Our Anniversary Vacation

For our one-year anniversary we took a trip to San Diego. We were able to spend 5 nights at the Hardrock Hotel. We went sight seeing, to the beach, ate great food, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. 

I am 5 months pregnant in this picture. Despite all of the puking, I enjoyed being pregnant at this point!

We had a great first year of marriage despite the trials and tribulations that we experience. The first year of marriage is always supposed to be the hardest. I think that it is like that to strengthen you as a couple so you can endure for the long haul. After we got married, Rich and I moved from Show Low back down to Tempe. We found out that we were expecting a baby then shortly experienced a miscarriage in October. It was definitely the hardest thing that either of us have ever experienced. God decided to bless us with another pregnancy in February. We were ecstatic! This time everything worked out the way that it should have and we welcomed our baby boy in November (more to come on that later). Rich started selling insurance which he quickly found out was not for him! He quickly went back to working in the bar industry at Dos Gringos in Scottsdale. Rich also started back to school at Scottsdale Community College to finish his degree. 

It was a very busy year full of excitement and tears. We learned to lean on each other and support each other through the good times and the bad. I am looking forward to many many years to come married to the greatest husband in the world. I love you Rich!

Tyler "KOHEN" Prewitt

Wow I am finally going to get around to blogging. I am constantly looking at everyone else's blog, but never pay any attention to mine. Well, here is a little update... We have decided to name our little one Tyler Kohen. Tyler, after Richie's brother who gave his life for us defending our country in Iraq. We will be calling him by his middle name Kohen though. It just didn't feel right making Tyler a middle name when it is honoring an American HERO. We got our 4D ultrasound today which was amazing. It is awesome getting a sneak peak at what your child looks like. The verdict is... Kohen has daddy's nose, mommy's eyes and pouty lips. Richie and I both have pretty full lips so it is hard to determine who's mouth he has exactly. He loves to have his hands by his face and sucks on anything that gets close to his mouth including...his hands, the umbilical cord and the placenta. He is about 5 lbs and 6 oz now at 32 weeks and has a big head. What does this mean exactly?... Kohen takes after daddy and is quite large for his age. I am dreading how big he will be by the time he makes his appearance in this world. We are getting quite excited for our little one to make his appearance!

Those are the things that you will be seeing around the Prewitt home in the years to come. It is official, we are having a BOY! Daddy couldn't be happier. Me, although happy, am a little nervous. It feels like I am a pro with girls since we have so many of them in my family. I guess I am not quite sure what to do with a boy. Surely I will figure it out and LOVE having a boy around. Besides, the rumor is boys are easier....right?

Happy Father's Day Hubby!!

As you may all have heard or guessed, we are expecting. Baby Prewitt is due to make an appearance around November 13th. I am going into my 20th week and we will be finally finding out the gender of our little bundle on the 29th!!! Today, I wanted to wish all the fathers out there a VERY happy Father's Day. You are all very special and loved and appreciated for all that you do. Happy very 1st Father's Day to my AMAZING husband. I know that he will be an amazing father. Here are my reasons why.

1.  He loves children and children love him.

2.  He makes everyone laugh. You always have a smile on your face when Richie is around. Even when I feel like crying he can make me laugh.

3.  Even though he WON'T change diapers now. I am sure that he will be more than willing to pitch in when our baby is here.

4.  He is a good teacher. He is so excited teach our kids how to play every sport known to man among many other things.

5.  He is the best cook and enjoys doing it. This will come in very handy when there is a brood of hungry mouths to feed.

6.  He is a hard worker and will do whatever he needs to provide for our family.

7.  He has the patience of a saint. He would have to be to put up with me and these pregnancy hormones.

8.  He reminds me of my father. Which has to be the biggest indicator of what's to come. I couldn't have been more blessed to have my dad in my life.

9.  He is the most caring person I have ever met. He will do anything for anyone no questions asked.

10.  He loves unconditionally and wholeheartedly. I am beyond blessed to have such an amazing man to call MY husband.

Happy Father's Day Hubby!! I love you and am so thankful for you.

Catchin' up on the happenings in the CRAZY Prewitts' lives

I find myself forever saying... "after this (i.e. school, move, wedding, move, job hunt etc) is over, our lives might slow down a bit. I have come to realize that slowing down NEVER happens. Just when you think things are going to slow down to normal, something else happens to shake things up again. This seems to be the story of our lives. 

We up and moved to beautiful Lakeside, Arizona in April where we were sure that life would SLOW down. Everything is slower in the country...right? Well, we thought so. Little did we know we were in for another shake up.  

While in Lakeside we spent most of our time planning our mountain wedding. After all of that chaos, I was sure that things must slow down! The day after the wedding we discovered that the people we were renting our house from let the house foreclose. Couldn't have asked for a "better" wedding gift. And, once again, our life was headed for more chaos. After much deliberation we decided to move back to the hustle and bustle of city life. So, back in the valley we are. 

We are now renting in Scottsdale. This lady has this house paid off (we checked). Morgan, our 7 month old enormous rottweiler/german shepherd has discovered the pool. She loves to sit on the first step, but hates to swim. She is having a hard time down here in the heat. She has only known the cool mountain weather. She is in for a rude awakening next summer. It hasn't even hit triple digits since we have been down here. 

I started working at Arizona Regional Medical Center in Mesa. It is a new heart hospital that took over Mesa General. I have never worked in an ICU that has taken open heart patients. It has been a great learning experience and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE working there!

My hubby, Rich, has decided to get out of the bar industry in preparation for us to start a family. He has decided to start selling insurance while he finishes his degree. I am excited beyond words that my hubby will be home before 4 am, and work somewhat normal business hours! He just found out that he passed his insurance exam and will start selling insurance on Monday. Congratulations Rich!!! 

Now our next adventure...back to school for both of us. I have 2 classes to finish up my Bachelor's in Nursing at GCU. Then, either Masters in education or anesthesia for me. As for Rich, also has 2 classes to finish up his Associate's. Then off to ASU to get his Bachelor's and teaching certificate so he can teach and coach football. Coaching is his true passion and he is great at it! Wish us luck in yet another chaotic adventure...Please tell me it will eventually SLOW DOWN?!?!

Ahhh... The Joys of Being a Kid!!

My friends Summer, Jt, and their daughter Ryan came up to visit us for Labor Day weekend. We had so much fun relaxing and catching up. We occupied most of our time with board games and football. Monday the boys went golfing so we went to the park with Ryan. There was a huge mud puddle than inevitably Ryan went swimming in. She had so much fun we could hardly drag her home! It looked like so much fun that even we wanted to do it.

Ryan's pants kept falling down. They were a size too big before they got wet. I couldn't resist the naked butt shot!
