Happy New Year
This New Years was sure different from the past years. We had a lot to reflect on and a lot to look forward to. Rich had to work of course. He spent his night intoxicating the masses, but somehow was able to sneak away and call us shortly after midnight. Kohen and I stayed home and snuggled on the couch. He still had a stuffy nose so we skipped out on New Years at the Cleckner's which we were bummed about. At midnight Kohen and I share the best New Year's kiss ever and toasted with chocolate chip ice cream and a bottle. Here's to the new year and all the excitement and change it will bring!!!
Christmas Eve
As soon as we got back from Sierra Vista we headed over to the Prewitt's for Christmas Eve. We had dinner, opened presents and enjoyed spending time together. Uncle Scott came for the festivities too!
Kohen sure made out like a bandit on his first Christmas. He got a high chair, a walker, clothes, books, his first basketball hoop (from grandpa Tim), his first fishing pole (from Papa Dan), a German rubber duckie, a soccer ball, a Cardinal's blanket, his first real camo (from Uncle Scott), some ASU gear, a keepsake from the first Superbowl (from papa) and so much more. I am sure there will be more spoiling of the only grandchild for some time. The other thing that he got for Christmas was a cold. As soon as we got home from Tim and Jonnie's he had a runny nose. Other than the cold, we had a pretty good first Christmas as a family!

The Week Before Christmas
We got to spend the week before Christmas in Sierra Vista with Grandma and Grandpa Randgaard. We had a great time relaxing, eating, and shopping.

What Kohen and Dad do When Mom is gone
November is over and we are settling in being parents. Rich is enjoying spending guy time with his son and I am getting brave enough to leave the house to go shopping without the baby. Apparently, when I am gone my two boys just hang out and watch football...surprise, surprise. Rich is teaching his son all kinds of new things like how to do the ASU pitchfork with his hands, the ins and outs of football, oh and how to put his hand down his pants while he watches football. Boy am I in trouble with these two!

Thanksgiving
This year for Thanksgiving we sure have a lot to be thankful for! We have a happy healthy baby boy, a roof over our heads, food in our bellies, amazing family and friends, and so much more. This Thanksgiving we got to spend it with The Georges and the Prewitts. My dad, Garth, HaLaana, Katelynn, and Josh got to come and visit. It was so great spending time with them. This is the first holiday that I have gotten to spend with them EVER! It was a really great experience spending time with them for the holidays.
Thanksgiving morning HaLaana and Katelynn helped me cook while Josh and Dad helped Rich cook the turkeys. We deep fried a turkey and smoked a turkey. When the food was ready the Prewitts joined us. Grandma Stockhill, Tim and Jonnie came over and Uncle Scott joined us a short while later. He was hunting in Williams and didn't see anything so he headed where the food was. I was horrible and forgot to take pictures. I did manage to get these two. I guess all of the cooking took precedence over picture taking.

Grandma and Grandpa Randgaard Come to Visit
Grandma is sooo in love with her new grandson, she just can't stay away (I am sure glad that she can't stay away) so Grandma, Grandpa T, and Aunt Maddy came for a visit. Aunt Maddy read Kohen books while everyone just hung out. Here are some pictures from their visit.

Grandma Stockhill and Aunt JoDee Come to Visit
Tuesday, November 16th Grandma Stockhill and Aunt JoDee get to come and visit. Grandma Stockhill decided to spend the winter in Phoenix with Tim and Jonnie. Aunt JoDee decided to accompany her here to help her along, and to see the new baby. Here are some pictures from their visit.

Kohen is a Week Old!!!
Monday, November 15th. I can't believe that Kohen is a week old. Time is already flying by. Our life has changed so much it is hard to remember what we did with all of our time before the baby was born. Here is what the last week has been like...
Daddy does the 2am feeding to let Mommy sleep. He is already trying to teach Kohen to hold his own bottle. Next week, Daddy is bringing out the baseball glove! |
The first "real" bath. I guess I need to remember to throw a wash cloth over his junk when I take naked bath pictures. Oh well, I guess this is what parents use as blackmail later. |

Special Delivery From Grandpa
November 13th I got a very special delivery. I received some flowers from my Grandpa. They were extra special because my Grandpa has NEVER sent anybody flowers before. Not even my Grandma!! He had no idea how to send flowers so he got some help from one of the ladies that he works at the temple with that owns a flower shop. He gave her some money and told her to send me some flowers. I think that she had some help from the "other side." The bouquet had iris' which grew in my Grandma's garden, gerbera daisies my favorite and a single yellow rose which were my Grandma's favorite. I think that maybe my Grandma had a hand in this. Maybe it was her way of telling us congratulations too.
First Trip to the Pediatrician's Office
On our way to Dr. Richardson's office
Kohen's bilirubin level was elevated when we left the hospital so we had to go to the pediatrician's office the very next day. They seemed pretty concerned at the hospital about it, but Dr. Richardson thought that it was no big deal. He was right too. Kohen got a little bit jaundiced but not nearly as bad as they said he would at the hospital. The medical assistant had daddy undress the baby and help with measurements. Richie was a little nervous to undress him, but he did just fine.
She also had daddy redress Kohen. Richie did better with dressing the baby than he did undressing the baby.
Redressing the baby
At two days old Kohen was 18 1/2 inches long and weighed 5 lbs 13 oz and is perfectly healthy. Dr. Richardson is amazing and we are very happy that we picked him as our pediatrician. (I think he was even practicing before I was born!). When we got home from the pediatrician visit "Uncle" Jason came to visit. We have such amazing friends!
